When the perfect job comes up, Charlie doesn't think twice about taking it. This is the break he's been looking for and nobody, not even the rest of his team, can persuade him otherwise.
The job means working for an old enemy and crossing the border into London. Both are risky, but Charlie has no idea how high the stakes really are. The team will have to confront their past, each other and a killer who is closer than they realize. But can they all make it out of the city alive?
"We all remember that kid in Piccadilly. That determined look he had on his face as he willed all those people to him. Just using his mind, he pulled them close then blew them all to pieces. It could be anyone. Your neighbour, your friend, your lover. Remain vigilant. Reachers are everywhere."
The Reacher World
It all changed with the Piccadilly bombings. The world knew about Reachers and they were understandably cautious. Men and women with extraordinary psychic abilities – who wouldn’t be? The Institute, the facility tasked with understanding and monitoring these… individuals, had taken bold steps in their legal powers, but were still hampered by government legislation.
Then, on a seemingly ordinary day, a young boy with a rucksack on his back, stepped off a train and into Piccadilly Circus. As he past the commuters he tapped them, one by one. And the strangers turned and followed him, crowding round the boy, seemingly hypnotised by his presence. There was a moment of collective calm before the station exploded. The boy was a Reacher. And the deaths he caused changed England forever.
Reachers went on the run or underground. Men, women, children hiding like an endangered species in hunting season. Except for two: Charlie and Rachel. These two would be the exception. And in time they would show the world the real threat to mankind.
Join Charlie and Rachel and those close to them as they turn the tables on the Institute and the government.
